Mike and I met in May of 2004 at the Albertsons on Broadway in Boise, Idaho. We started dating shortly after we met and became official on July 1st 2004. We spent almost every day of the last seven and a half years together. It will forever be the best years of my life. When I asked Mike why he loved me he always called me “his better half”. He was mine as well. He was kind, caring, loving, gentle, strong, funny, silly, open, helpful, and all around the most amazing man I have ever met. Not to mention the most gorgeous man I have ever seen in my life. I am who I am because of him. And for that I thank you a million times over Michael Patrick.
In April of 2006 we gave birth to our beautiful baby boy Jaymen. It was one of the best days of our lives. Mike always wanted to be a dad, and he was the best. The bond between Jaymen and Mike was the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed. As you will see in the many pictures I took of them, it’s in their eyes and all over their faces how much they loved each other. Jaymen and I pray to dad every night and Jaymen says it best, “Dear daddy angel, I love you and I miss you so so so much. I wish you were here to play with me. You are the best daddy ever in the whole world and I love you and miss you…”
This page has been created to honor his memory for the sake of our son, Jaymen Campbell. With this page I would like to share with you, and Jaymen, my memories of his father. From you, I am asking that you share as well. If you have a photo, upload it. If you have a story, share it. Whether it be 1, or 1 thousand. If it’s 10 times a day, AWESOME! If it’s once a year, GREAT! More than anything in the world Mike wanted to be a dad-a great dad. He was! My wish is that my son will remember and know who his father truly was. The only way we can do that is together. In time memories will fade, and pictures will be lost. But if we write them down and share them they will be with us forever.
Mike passed away on November 10, 2011 from a tragic accident. I do not believe that accident defines who he was. His son and I did not know him in that way, and we strongly discourage talk that will tarnish our memories. Although we understand what role he played in it, we do not blame him and we do not believe it was his choice. We will forever remember him for the amazing, incredible, wonderful man that he was. I will honor him by sharing my positive memories, stories, photos, and videos of who I knew him to be. Will you do the same for us?
